Privacy Policy

S&F Transport LLC d/b/a Rising Star Logistics (“Rising Star Logistics”, “we”, “us”) operates www.rslogs.com. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
• Quote request form: your name, company, email, phone number and the shipment details you enter (such as pickup and delivery locations, dates, freight type and weight).
• Server logs: like nearly every website, our web server records each request, including your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, the referring page and your browser's user agent. We use these logs for security, troubleshooting and basic visit counts.
• Analytics (opt-in in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland; on by default elsewhere — see Cookies below): pages viewed, the referring page, screen size, browser language, time zone, time spent on a page and a random visit ID kept in your browser's session storage. This is combined with your IP address and user agent.
• Approximate location: we derive an approximate city, region, country and network provider from IP addresses using an offline database. We do not collect precise location.

How we use it

• To answer your questions and prepare the quotes you request, including by phone or email.
• To provide, secure and improve this website, and to detect spam and abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not set cookies and does not use advertising, social media or third-party tracking scripts. We do use your browser's storage in a few small ways:

• Your privacy choice (local storage, key rs_consent) — strictly necessary, so we remember your analytics choice.
• Terms agreement (local storage, key rs_terms) — strictly necessary, records which version of our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy you agreed to, so we only ask again when they change.
• Visit ID (session storage, key rs_track_sid) — analytics, set only when analytics are on, and erased when you close the tab.
• Privacy region (session storage, key rs_region) — strictly necessary, remembers for this tab which privacy rules apply to you (see below).

Where you are decides the default. To pick the right rules, we look up the country of your IP address in a database stored on our own server; the address isn't saved or shared for this. Visitors in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland are opted out of analytics until they choose to accept. Everyone else has analytics on by default and can turn them off. If we can't tell where you are, we use the stricter opt-in rules.

You can change your choice at any time using Cookie Settings at the bottom of any page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and analytics stay off.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run this website and our business:

• Our hosting provider, which runs the servers this website lives on.
• Google, whose email service delivers form submissions to our team.
• Our internal dispatch system, which stores website analytics.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of business assets.

How long we keep it

• Raw web server logs: about 14 days.
• Visit records built from analytics and server logs: 90 days.
• Form submissions: as long as needed to respond and for our ordinary business records.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and spam protection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example New Jersey, California and other US states), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to access or get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale, targeted advertising or profiling. We do not do the last three. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To make a request, email us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with “Appeal” in the subject line.

Children

This website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
